Emily Droughns | HS Counselor
Emily Droughns is a counselor for the high school and has been with Colorado Preparatory Academy since it first opened in 2013. This marks eight years as a counselor; all of which have been spent with Stride K12 schools as an online school counselor. Emily earned her undergraduate degree in human development and family studies from Colorado State University. She then continued her education and earned an MA in school counseling from the University of Phoenix.
Colleen Enright | HS Counselor
Ms. Enright is a high school counselor who joined Stride K12 in 2014. She brings over 12 years of experience in education, serving as a school counselor and teacher. Colleen earned her BA in communications-recording arts and MA in school counseling from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. She also attended the Alternative Licensing Teaching Program at Metro State University. She holds licensures in K–12 school counseling and K–6 elementary education. Additionally, she has training and/or certification as a SPED staffing coordinator, 504 coordinator, yoga and spinning instructor.
Alanna Everett | School Psychologist
Mrs. Everett is a school psychologist who joined the Stride K12 team in 2018, with over 10 years of experience in this role. Mrs. Everett was born in California, grew up in Colorado, and attended both undergraduate and graduate school in Indiana. Mrs. Everett is currently completing her doctorate in clinical psychology.
Dixie Holmes | Family Academic Support Liaison
In 2014 Mrs. Holmes joined the Stride K12 team as the military base site coordinator and later became the lead FASL at CPA. After she earned her BA in ecology from the University of Denver, Dixie was a 4-H instructor at the Coosa River Science School in Alabama. She went on to teach the Michael Phelps IM Program on Peterson Air Force Base 2013.
Jennifer Lauderdale | Truancy Officer
Mrs. Lauderdale is the truancy officer at Colorado Preparatory Academy and Pikes Pike Online School. Jennifer received her bachelor’s degree in criminal justice with an emphasis in sociology from California State University, Bakersfield. After moving to Colorado in 2008, she worked for six years for the 18th Judicial District Juvenile Assessment Center where she had the privilege of working with children and their families throughout Arapahoe, Douglas, Elbert, and Lincoln counties here in Colorado. As a Learning Coach for the past five years, Jennifer has come to love online education and all its benefits and wishes to share her experience and knowledge with the CPA and PPOS communities.
Rachel Meyer Ph.D. | School Psychologist
Dr. Rachel H. Meyer is a school psychologist with CPA and PPOS who joined Stride K12 in the fall 2017. She received her PhD in educational psychology and special education from Temple University, a MA in community counseling from John Carroll University and a BA in psychology from the University of Denver. Prior to joining Stride K12 she was a school psychologist and founding member of DSST-Cole High School in Denver. She also has years of experience working and teaching in higher education and running disability offices.
Lindsey Miller | Family Support Liaison
Mrs. Miller is a family support liaison who joined the CPA team in 2013. She has been working in education for the last 10 years. She earned her bachelor’s degree in liberal studies with a concentration in child and family development and also a master’s degree in school counseling (K–12) from California State University Fresno.
Jennifer Samora | HS Counselor
Ms. Jen Samora is the high school college advisor who joined Stride K12 in 2014. She has over 10 years of experience working in the pre-collegiate arena of education and has specialized in concurrent enrollment. Prior to earning her school counseling degree, she taught Spanish for two years at both the high school and middle school level. Jen earned a BA in international business from Oral Roberts University, and an MA in school counseling from Adams State University.
Lindsey Silver | Family Academic Support Liaison
Mrs. Silver is a Family Academic Support Liaison (FASL) who joined the Stride K12 team in 2015. She brings more love and excitement to the team than anything else. Her education is from Metropolitan State University where she got her online degree in behavioral sciences.
Sarah Sisneros | ELL Coordinator
Ms. Sisneros is the ELL coordinator who joined the Stride K12 team in 2016. She has spent her 12 years in education in a collection of diverse schools. Sarah earned her bachelor's degree in elementary education with an emphasis in English as a second language from the University of Northern Colorado in 2007. In 2010, she earned a master's degree in educational leadership with a principal's license from Regis University.
Rilla Snyder | Family Academic Support Liaison
Mrs. Snyder joined the Family Academic Support Team at CPA in 2014 and has worked for Stride K12 schools for 10 years. She also had two sons in Stride K12-powered schools and was a Learning Coach for 8 years. Mrs. Snyder began working in education as a preschool substitute teacher in 1999 and returned to school to take early childhood education classes to become a certified preschool teacher.
Debra Wadsworth | Family Academic Support Liaison
Mrs. Debbie Wadsworth is a family academic support liaison. She brings more than 12 years of experience working with families in all different areas of education. Debbie earned a BA in psychology with a minor in education and sociology. She loves working with all kids but especially kids that need extra support and different learning options.
Alison Worker | Family Academic Support Liaison
Mrs. Worker is a member of the Family Academic Support Team program. She enjoys helping coach families to success in school and loves seeing students engage and get excited about growing their brains! Alison has 8 years of experience with Stride K12 working with middle school and high school students. After graduating with two BA degrees in English literature and psychology, Mrs. Worker enjoyed working in behavioral health, then as a corporate trainer supervisor for America West Airlines and Mayo Clinic.
Kathy Wortley | Family Resource Coordinator
Mrs. Wortley is CPA's family resource coordinator and is in her 10th year of working with Stride K12. Her background is in social work and she has an AA and BSW in social work from Olivet University and Ohio State University. Kathy brings more than 35 years of experience in social work, education, and working with at-risk families and students. She is the former executive director of a non-profit in Colorado Springs working in partnership with the juvenile justice system mentoring incarcerated youth.
Lana Turnbull | Special Programs Administrator
Lana Turnbull started working with the Stride K12 team in 2006 in the special education department. She is the “go to” person for special education related services for students. Ms. Turnbull also completes administrative work for special education, assisting with special ed enrollment and acts as the liaison for providers or therapists for our students. Lana loves the satisfaction of helping our students obtain the tools they need to be successful!
