For students at Colorado Preparatory Academy, prom night was more than just an event; it was a celebration of connection, community, and unforgettable memories. On Friday, May 16, 2025, Colorado Preparatory Academy students joined peers from across the state at the Riverwalk Clubhouse in Littleton for a “70’s Groovy” themed prom, bringing bright colors, disco balls, and vintage flair to life for a truly nostalgic and joyful evening.

Colorado Preparatory Academy is a statewide, tuition-free online public school that offers students in K-12th grade the option to pursue academics at their pace. While learning happens virtually, the school places a strong emphasis on providing real-world social opportunities, and this prom was no exception. Dozens of Colorado Preparatory Academy juniors and seniors, many of whom had never met in person before, arrived dressed to the nines and ready to celebrate a milestone of the high school experience.

The night featured a live DJ spinning classic hits and modern tunes, a themed photo booth for capturing memories, and fun games that encouraged students to mix, mingle, and share laughs with friends both new and familiar. For many Colorado Preparatory Academy students, prom was a unique chance to step out of their comfort zones and into a space that felt welcoming, festive, and entirely their own.

Online students often choose Colorado Preparatory Academy for reasons ranging from advanced academics to finding a safe, distraction-free learning environment. Prom offered these students the same social rites of passage their brick-and-mortar peers enjoy as they enter Summer Break, proving that virtual learning doesn’t mean missing out on traditional experiences.

Scheduled just before graduation, prom served as the perfect kickoff to a season of celebration, where bonds were formed, memories were made, and the Class of 2025 got the recognition it truly deserves before crossing the stage.
