We are thrilled to celebrate an incredible achievement by a student from Colorado Preparatory Academy (CPA)! Seventh grader Diego, competing as the TechnoBots, earned the title of 2026 K12 Robotics League National Champion in the grades 7–9 division.

After months of coding, testing, problem-solving, and competing against students from across the country, Diego’s hard work and dedication led him all the way to the K12 Robotics League National Finals in Reston, Virginia — where he brought home the championship title.

From Virtual Challenges to National Champion

The journey to the championship was no small feat. Throughout the season, students programmed virtual robots using the Virtual Robotics Toolkit, completing a variety of missions designed to test their coding, engineering, and critical-thinking skills.

Round after round, Diego demonstrated creativity, perseverance, and a passion for robotics, ultimately earning a spot at the national finals. There, he took on an exciting new challenge: transferring his virtual programs to physical LEGO EV3 robots and competing live against some of the nation’s top young robotics teams.

Diego rose to the occasion, showcasing impressive skills and determination to claim the national championship in the grades 7–9 division.

An Unforgettable Experience

The K12 Robotics League National Finals offered much more than competition. It gave students the chance to collaborate, learn, and connect with fellow robotics enthusiasts from across the country.

From tackling challenging missions to cheering on peers and celebrating successful runs, the event was filled with excitement, teamwork, and memorable moments that students will carry with them long after the competition’s end.

Celebrating an Outstanding Achievement

As the Grades 7–9 National Champion, Diego received a $500 prize and an official K12 Robotics League trophy. More importantly, he gained valuable hands-on experience in coding, problem-solving, teamwork, and robotics engineering.

We are incredibly proud of Diego and the way he represented CPA on the national stage. Congratulations to Diego and the TechnoBots on this well-deserved accomplishment!

Looking Ahead

Diego’s success is an inspiring reminder of what students can achieve when curiosity, dedication, and innovation come together. We can’t wait to see where his passion for robotics takes him next — and we’re excited to watch all of this year’s participants continue exploring STEM opportunities and pursuing their dreams.
